The Women’s March is coming up quick and we can’t wait! In the midst of all of the excitement, we can forget some key aspects of taking care of ourselves on a big day like this. We’ve put together some helpful tips to make sure that you can focus your energy on fighting for social change!

Make sure to download Present and join the Women’s March circle for your city so that you’re connected with all of the other #badassbabes who are out marching with you!

Discover

Download Present and find local Women’s March organizers and attendees around you! Search for the ‘Women’s March’ Circle of the app to find other badass ladies sign making and marching around you!

Connect

Use Present to connect with local women that are around you who are also marching in the 2018 Women’s March! This is great, especially if you’re still looking for a group of people to go with!

Eat A Big Meal Before

Self-care is the most important for a day like the Women’s March! It can be easy to forget to eat or hydrate but we’re here to remind you — you can’t change the world without helping yourself first! So use this as an excuse to go out to breakfast or lunch with your #badassbabe besties before the rally and march so that you’re all well nourished.

Grub with your girl gang at a women-owned restaurant near you — find one in the ‘Woman-Owned’ section of Present!

Don’t Forget Your Water Bottle

Don’t forget to pack a water bottle and some snacks to hold you over throughout the day. This is a marathon not a sprint — expect The Women’s March to be both empowering and potentially emotionally exhaustive! Planning for this in advance helps you not feel so drained at the end of the day!! #protip

Wear Comfy Shoes

Today is about walking — while your flats may be cute and functional they probably haven’t been put to the test like walking in a march will! This also will help in the long run when you start to feel tired — at least your feet won’t hurt. Find your shoes with the sturdiest arch support and your fav women empowerment shirt (this is our fav!) and you’re ready for the day!

After the Rally

Now that you’e connected to what’s going on locally, find what you’re passionate about! What will keep you motivated to stay engaged as you balance all the things? Use Present to explore different engaging communities of women who are enthusiastic about specific causes in your area! The “Social Good” and “Woman Owned” sections of the app are great to keep you inspired even after the Women’s March is over.

Join the circle for the non-profit of your choosing and meet other women who are as motivated and passionate about the cause as you are! Stay accountable and have a buddy to help you maintain balance. If you don’t have a friend in the circle for the non-profit you love, make one by introducing yourself or share the app with one of your friends so you can get involved together!
