Most of us have had that moment as a child where we dream to be a doctor, teacher, or even a ballerina. Through the years, passions tend to fade and we fall into other career paths. For Sasha De Sola, she believed in her passions and decided to pursue a career as a dancer. Now as a principal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet, all of her years of training and dedication to the craft has paid off.

Sasha began training seriously as a ballet dancer at the age of 10 and went to high school at the Kirov Ballet Academy in Washington D.C. In 2006, she joined the San Francisco Ballet Company and has been dancing for them ever since. Through injuries, hardships, and the emotional strain that comes from practicing 6 times a week, she’s still passionate about dancing.

Although there’s the stereotype of ballerinas being delicate and feminine, she proves that wrong with her dedication to training and pushing herself to be the best she can be. Sasha is definitely our WCW this week for her badass approach to one of the most difficult career paths.
