As self-titled foodies, our team at Present loves hearing about culinary experiences that are changing the fine dining game forever. French chef Dominique Crenn has been on our radar as one of the most widely praised chefs in San Francisco. Her restaurant, Atelier Crenn, has a set menu that will take your taste buds on a unique adventure. The 8 table restaurant has been awarded 2 Michelin stars which has made her a household name.

Crenn began her love for food at a young age when her adopted parents took her to Michelin star restaurants that allowed her to appreciate food at a higher capacity. Even though she had a passion for food, she decided to major in economics and obtain a masters in international business due to the barriers to enter the food industry as a woman.

Crenn finally pursued her aspirations in the 80s and moved to the United States to gain culinary experience. In 2011, she opened Atelier Crenn in San Francisco and became the first woman in the United States to receive two Michelin stars. Her dedication to her craft has been inspirational to many aspiring women chefs around the world. Crenn’s ability to maintain a positive atmosphere in the kitchen and in the restaurant while creating amazing dishes has made her our #WCW.
