With the forever growing tech industry, coding has become an important skill to have if you want to make it in the industry. The boss babe we’re crushing on this week understands just how important the future of coding is and founded Code for America to connect the public and the U.S. government.

Jennifer Pahlka is a technological badass that has a history of connecting people to the power of coding whether that be in the government or to the general public. Serving as the US Deputy Chief Technology Officer from 2013–14, she was able to create the United States Digital Service that helps federal agencies gain knowledge of technology.

Pahlka’s company Code for America helps government agencies serve communities better with technological aid. The company works with thousands of tech industry professionals and links them to government agencies to make the most of our tax dollars. Their goal is to create a platform for the community to engage with government officials so their voices are heard.

Even in a predominantly male industry such as tech, Pahlka has been able to make a name for herself and continues to excel in her career. We appreciate the contributions she has made to make women a driving force of the tech industry.
